89 Deputy Jim Daly asked the Minister for Education and Skills the cost of payments to teachers and staff under different headings other than basic salary for each of the past five years in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7494/12]
View answerThe information requested by the Deputy in relation to teachers in Primary, Secondary, Community and Comprehensive Schools is being compiled and will be forwarded directly to him. My Department does not pay allowances to other staff in these schools. My Department does not hold information on payments other than basic salary to employees of vocational education committees (VECs). Each VEC is a separate employer operating its own payroll system and, accordingly, the information sought would require an inordinate amount of administrative time to compile.
