The regulation of the taxi industry, including coordination of enforcement activities, is a matter in the first instance for the National Transport Authority (NTA) under the Taxi Regulation Act, 2003. The position in regard to enforcement in the small public service vehicles (SPSV) sector was examined during the recent review of the taxi industry — see section 3.5 of the Taxi Regulation Review Report which is available on my Department's website.
