477 Deputy Mary Lou McDonald asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if he will provide in tabular form the city and county managers who on retirement were awarded added years and a special severance gratuity payment between January 2000 and December 2011; the date that each manager retired; the age at which each manager retired; and the amount awarded as a special severance gratuity payment to each manager. View answerArticle 78 of the Local Government (Superannuation) (Consolidation) Scheme 1998 deals with the pension entitlements of city and county managers.
My Department has examined the new pension terms for secretaries general to assess how they apply to city and county managers. The implementation of new pension terms will require legislation. The precise detail of this is currently being examined.
