252 Deputy Micheál Martin asked the Minister for Health the basis for the closure of the Rhiannon ward, St Mary’s Hospital, Phoenix Park, Dublin; the consultations held with patients and their families in advance of the announced closure; if he will publish a copy of the Health Information Quality Authority report on the ward; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister of State at the Department of Health (Deputy Kathleen Lynch): While this is a service matter and has been referred to the Health Service Executive for direct reply the Deputy should note that the Health Information and Quality Authority routinely publishes all inspection reports. They are available at www.hiqa.ie. The latest report published for St Mary’s is of an inspection completed in April 2010.
