175 Deputy John McGuinness asked the Minister for Finance the number and cost of advertisements placed in national newspapers for job vacancies in the civil and public service in the past 12 months; the number of new entrants recruited from the process; the number of vacancies filled from inside the civil and public service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerIn the time allowed it was not possible to provide a detailed answer for the Deputy with regard to my Department. The Public Appointments Service (PAS) is an independent body established under the Public Service Management (Recruitment and Appointments) Act 2004, to provide recruitment, assessment and selection services for the civil service. The PAS will provide data regarding competitions run by them directly to the Deputy as soon as possible.
