331 Deputy Gerry Adams asked the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources if he will provide a breakdown of the number of freedom of information requests submitted in the years 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 to his Department; the total amount of fees charged and fees received in each year; the number and amount of initial search fees paid and the number and amount of search and retrieval fees paid. I propose to take Questions Nos. 330 and 331 together.

My Department was established in 2007 and provision of information for the years prior to that year is not possible.

The information sought by the Deputy in the period 2007-2011 is set out in the table:

In addition to the details sought by the Deputy, I can advise that over the period 2007 to 2011 a total of €2,650 was received in fees in relation to appeals of decisions issued under the FOI Acts.
