527 Deputy Dan Neville asked the Minister for Health the ratio of child and adolescent psychiatrists to the child and adolescent population in countries (details supplied). [12298/12]
View answerThe Medical Council reported that there were 131 physicians with a specialty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry as at 31st December, 2011. Given a CSO estimated 2011 population under the age of 18 of 1.142 million, this equates to approximately 11.4 Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists per 100,000 children aged under 18 for Ireland. My Department does not collect this information for the other countries referred to by the Deputy.
