27 Deputy Michael Colreavy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine his plans to appoint a regional inspector at his Department’s office in Drumshanbo, County Leitrim, following the retirement of the previous regional inspector last November; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine (Deputy Simon Coveney)

The post to which the Deputy refers has recently become vacant and, as the Deputy will be aware, a moratorium on recruitment and promotion is in place in the public service. Alternative arrangements are being put in place to address this vacancy.
