Under section 22 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2009, it is a matter for the housing authority to determine, in accordance with their allocation scheme, the priority afforded to applicants on the authority's waiting list for social housing, including that sources through the Social Housing Leasing Initiative. The making and amendment of such an allocation scheme for social housing is a reserved function of the elected members of each housing authority.
