68 Deputy Martin Heydon asked the Minister for Finance if he will consider the position of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who is over 65 years but had DIRT deducted from 2003-2006 when they were in fact exempt from this tax; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17450/12]
View answerI have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that Deposit Interest Retention Tax (DIRT) deducted for the years 2003 to 2006 inclusive has already been refunded to the person concerned during the years 2006, 2007 and 2008. The Revenue Commissioners will write to the person concerned shortly with full details.
