337 Deputy Gerry Adams asked the Minister for Education and Skills the amount that he expects to spend on prefabs in each of the national primary schools in Ardee and Collon, County Louth for the next five years. [18479/12]
View answerA review of the continued need for the temporary accommodation at all schools that are renting is conducted every two or three years. The next review for the schools referred to by the Deputy is due from 1 July 2012 and this review will determine the level of expenditure on the accommodation to 2014-15. My Department has sought the assistance of, and is working closely with, the relevant Local Authority to identify and acquire a suitable site for the proposed primary school in Ardee. Due to commercial sensitivities attaching to site acquisitions generally, it is not possible for me to comment further at this time. As outlined in the recently announced Five Year Plan, it is expected that the project for the school in Ardee will progress to the construction stage of the architectural planning process during 2014-15.
