View answerI am advised by the Social Welfare Appeals Office that the reply to Parliamentary Question No. 293 of 27 March 2012 inadvertently dealt with an appeal in relation disability allowance which is also registered with the Office for the person concerned. This appeal is still open.
In relation to the appeal in respect of invalidity pension, I am advised that an Appeals Officer having fully considered all the available evidence, including that adduced at oral hearing, allowed the appeal and notification of the decision was issued to the person on 1 March 2012.
The Social Welfare Appeals Office functions independently of the Minister for Social Protection and of the Department and is responsible for determining appeals against decisions on social welfare entitlements.
