334 Deputy Barry Cowen asked the Minister for Social Protection when a person (details supplied) in County Offaly may expect a decision on an application for carer’s allowance. [21266/12]
View answerThe person concerned was refused carer's allowance on the grounds that the care recipients are not so disabled as to require full- time care and attention as prescribed in regulations. On 8th November 2011, he was notified of this decision, the reason for it and of his right of review or appeal within 21 days. There is no record of an appeal having been received in this case. If the circumstances have changed, it is open to the person in question to submit a new claim for carer's allowance to the Department for investigation and decision.
