335 Deputy Brendan Ryan asked the Minister for Social Protection the number of persons refused an application for jobseeker’s allowance in January, February, March and April of this year solely for failing to meet the habitual residence condition; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The number of jobseeker's allowance applications that were disallowed between 1 January 2012 and 30 April 2012 on the basis of a failure to satisfy the habitual residence condition was 609. The monthly breakdown of this figure is as follows: January, 138; February, 189; March, 158; and April, 124.
