340 Deputy Jack Wall asked the Minister for Social Protection the position regarding an application for rent allowance in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [26608/12]

The person concerned has no entitlement to rent supplement at the present moment as he has currently obtained full-time employment. The Department will be in a position to reassess his rent supplement claim in the future if the terms of this employment change.

341 Deputy Paul J. Connaughton asked the Minister for Social Protection when a decision will issue in relation to an application for carer’s allowance in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [26619/12]

I confirm that the Department is in receipt of an application for carer's allowance from the person in question. On completion of the necessary investigations relating to all aspects of her case a decision will be made and the person concerned will be notified directly of the outcome.
