527 Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the Dingle ice plant facility in County Kerry closed last September; if he will re-open this plant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27810/12]
View answerThe Dingle Ice Plant comes under the remit of Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM). BIM is an independent statutory body and hence policy in relation to the operation and management of the ice plants is a matter for the Agency. The Department has forwarded the request to BIM for its consideration and for a direct reply to the Deputy.
