295 Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn asked the Minister for Social Protection the reason a person (details supplied) in County Donegal has yet to be furnished with a death certificate. [29272/12]
View answerI am informed by the Registrar General that this case was referred to the Coroner for Donegal North East in September 2011. Where a death has been referred to a coroner, the death can only be registered on foot of a coroner's certificate. I am informed that the Coroner intends to convene an inquest into the cause of death in the near future. The death will be registered by the local registrar on receipt of a coroner's certificate as provided for under section 41 of the Civil Registration Act 2004.
