430 Deputy Seán Kenny asked the Minister for Justice and Equality when he expects the 40 additional Garda vehicles to be on the road; if the contract for the purchase of additional Garda vans has been completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30560/12]
View answerThe provision and allocation of Garda resources, including transport, is a matter for the Garda Commissioner. In that context, I am advised by the Garda authorities that the vehicles referred to by the Deputy have all been brought into service. In addition, I am informed that, following a tender process organised by the National Procurement Service, a new contract has been put in place for the provision of Garda vans.
