1285. Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if he will report on the impact of the recent changes that were implemented to the Garda roster; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [39169/12]
View answerThe new rosters have been developed following detailed consultations between Garda management and the Garda representative associations under the Croke Park Agreement and have been in operation since 30 April 2012.
They are designed to maximise the availability of Gardaí at times of peak demand, while at the same time improving the work/life balance of members. The result is more Gardaí on duty at peak times, and the delivery of a more effective and efficient policing service.
