247. Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Finance in view of the proposed increases in PRSI, if he realises that small businesses in particular cannot take any more increases in taxes and are struggling at present to keep people in employment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The position is as I stated in my Budget day 2012 speech, that I intend to broaden the base for PRSI to cover rental, investment and other forms of income from 2013. I can assure the Deputy, that I am trying to take a balanced approach and the full details will be presented in Budget 2013.
