Deputy Dara Calleary asked the Minister for Arts; Heritage and the Gaeltacht the number of press officers in his Department; the number of press officers in each agency under his auspices; the total cost of press officers in his Department and in agencies under his auspices; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I can advise the Deputy that there is one full-time employee dedicated to the role of Press Officer in my Department. I am advised that only one of the bodies funded from my Department's Vote Group – the Arts Council - employs a dedicated Press Officer. The combined cost of these two posts is €153,721.
