View answerOn 15th October, 2012, the Minister for Health, Deputy James Reilly, announced that intensive negotiations with the Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association (IPHA) had reached a successful conclusion with a major new deal on the cost of drugs in the State. This deal has a value in excess of €400 million over the next three years and will mean, amongst other things, greater access to new cutting-edge drugs. Accordingly, the HSE is finalising arrangements for the reimbursement of Abiraterone Acetate (Zytiga®) in line with the new agreement.
