824. Deputy Sean Fleming asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the position regarding the State Pathology Laboratory announced under the stimulus package; the various stages involved in this project; the timelines involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [48711/12]
View answerI wish to inform the Deputy that this project, together with a range of other projects, is still under consideration. While I wish to proceed as quickly as possible with the projects that were previously announced, the process involved in public-private partnerships requires the detailed consideration of a complex range of factors including which projects might best be linked together for the purposes of tendering. Of necessity, this process takes time. I expect the precise position to become clearer in the coming months.
