Deputy Seamus Kirk asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the position regarding train fares and the disproportionate fare charged by Iarnród Éireann for commuters in and out of Laytown train station, County Meath, compared to Balbriggan, County Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The issue raised is a matter for Iarnród Éireann in conjunction with the National Transport Authority (NTA) and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to both for direct reply.  Please advise my private office if you do not receive replies within ten working days.
