197. Deputy Dara Calleary asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the position regarding an area aid application in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [51873/12]

An application under the 2012 Disadvantaged Areas Scheme was received from the person named on 8 May 2012. However, payment has not yet issued as, at this stage, the holding of the person named has not satisfied the twelve-month average stocking density minimum of 0.15 livestock units per declared forage hectare, as per the 2012 Terms and Conditions. Immediately this criteria can be confirmed, the case will be further processed with a view to payment at the earliest possible date thereafter.

While the person named has submitted a derogation application, it has been necessary to request that further supporting documentation be submitted, in order to allow full consideration of the appeal. Immediately this required documentation is received, the application will further processed, with a view to a decision issuing as soon as possible thereafter.
