Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Skills the total number of post primary schools throughout the country and fully operational in the current academic year; the number, if any, in the DEIS category; the extent to which the remainder are fee-paying schools; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Total number of post-primary schools in 2012/13 - 722. Total number of DEIS post-primary schools - 195. Total number of fee paying post-primary schools - 55.
