316. Deputy Maureen O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Education and Skills the extent of the engagement between the National Educational Psychological Services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Education Welfare Boards, in the interests of those students in both primary and post primary education in need of support. The National Educational Psychological Service is organised on a regional basis. Liaison with the CAMHS is prioritised regionally and locally by NEPS in the interests of developing effective referral pathways for students with significant social, emotional and mental health needs.NEPS has agreed protocols with the NEWB to cater for the needs of students in primary and post primary who are out of school or at risk of early school leaving.
