I have been advised by the HSE that each consultant prioritises patients on the basis of information provided by general practitioners. Accordingly, patients should contact their GP in the first instance to discuss their request an earlier appointment date.

In relation to the specific query raised by the Deputy, as this is a service matter it has been referred to the HSE for direct reply.
