217. Deputy Patrick Nulty asked the Minister for Education and Skills if a student grant application will be expedited in respect of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 15; the reason for the delay; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11538/13]
View answerOfficials in my Department have confirmed with Student Universal Support Ireland, that on 28th February 2013, a request for further documentation was issued to the student referred to by the Deputy. When the requested documentation is returned the student will be notified directly of the outcome. The Deputy should be aware that, following a request from my Department, the Higher Education Authority requested that institutions show flexibility, as most have done in the past, to students awaiting a decision on their grant application.
