202. Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if he will extend the burning of the land until 31 March in view of the fact that this year was extremely wet; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11788/13]

The deadline for burning vegetation is set in the Wildlife Act 1976 as amended by the Wildlife (Amendment) Act, 2000 and any extension thereto is the responsibility of the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
