Questions (207)

Maureen O'Sullivan

Question:

207. Deputy Maureen O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Health in view of the findings that his Department's nursing home charges, mobility allowance and motorised transport grant schemes were not soundly based in law, if he will initiate an audit and report on whether the remaining schemes and services provided by his Department are soundly based in law; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I understand that the Deputy's question relates to the Department's administrative and statutory schemes and not to health services provided by or under the aegis of the Department. As a matter of practice, the Department undertakes reviews of schemes for which it has responsibility on a periodic basis. The Department is compiling a list of all its statutory and administrative schemes and this will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as it is available.
