View answerThe Garda Commissioner is the Accounting Officer for the Garda Vote and I have been informed by the Garda authorities that the annual cost saving arising from the removal of certain Public Access Call Boxes is approximately €394,000. In this context, I understand that in the course of an operational review it was established that, on average, the majority of the relevant Public Access Call Boxes had less than one call per day.
