89. Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Finance which Minister or Minister of State represented Ireland at the ministerial Council meetings of the European Union during the Irish Presidency of the Council to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26213/13]
View answerEcofin usually meets monthly, although it can meet more frequently, if required. During Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2013, as President of Ecofin, I have chaired four formal meetings and one informal meeting of the Ecofin Council. Mr Brian Hayes TD, Minister of State at the Department of Finance, has represented Ireland at these meetings and will continue to do so for the remainder of the Irish Presidency. The attached table set outs the dates and locations of the five Ecofin Council meetings that I have chaired to date during Ireland’s Presidency of the Council, and which Minister of State, Brian Hayes TD has attended as the national representative.
