168. Deputy Brendan Smith asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade if he will provide a country by country per annum breakdown of Irish passports given out by embassies over the past ten years; the fees collected per annum; the number of passports issued domestically over the past ten years and fees collected; the number of emergency passports issued domestically over that period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Prior to the full introduction of our current technology system in Oct 2005 the Passport Service only recorded figures for passports issued on the island of Ireland. These pre-2006 records below do not differentiate between emergency and non-emergency passports.
