Deputy Andrew Doyle asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport regarding the legal regulations surrounding microlight aircraft and their flying patterns, if the use of such aircraft registered with the Irish Aviation Authority are permitted to fly low over densely populated residential areas; the lowest flying level permitted when not on approach for landing; if particular microlight aircraft are able to land in private lands or if they must take-off and land from fully licensed airports, airfields and aerodromes; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
