Deputy Michael McGrath asked the Minister for Social Protection if any person who was previously self-employed and who was refused jobseeker's allowance by virtue of the means test is included in her Department's official figures as an unemployed person; and if she will make a statement on the matter. A small number of disallowed jobseekers claims are included in the live register published total each month. There were 687 such disallowed claimants in the end August 2013 live register count. This figure does not include any claimants in the self-employed jobseekers category as this group is excluded from the live register.
