View answerIt is a matter for each local authority to decide on whether to employ a Heritage Officer. Since 1999 the Heritage Council, which my Department funds, has supported the employment of Heritage Officers in local authorities. I understand that the Council is currently part-funding Heritage Officers in 28 local authorities.
