215. Deputy Patrick Nulty asked the Minister for Health the action he is taking to ensure that the rate of organ donation here improves substantially; if he will appoint transplant co-ordinators in each hospital as part of this effort; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [44021/13]
View answerMy Department is working with the HSE's National Organ Donation and Transplantation Office to establish the required infrastructure to improve organ donation and transplantation rates. Priority areas for action in 2014 are being identified and the deployment of key donation personnel will be considered in this context.
