Fluoridation costs are based on annual operational/maintenance charges and the supply and delivery of hydrofluosilicic acid, the chemical used in the fluoridation of public water supplies. As local authorities act as agents for the HSE in arranging fluoridation, I have asked the HSE to respond directly to the Deputy on this issue.
