373. Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Social Protection if she will provide a breakdown of the number and percentage of young persons under 25 who are in employment, unemployed, pursuing further education and training, emigrated, etc., who completed a course of education under the back-to-education allowance scheme in 2011 and 2012; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The information requested by the Deputy is not available in my Department. I am however informed that at the end of December in each of the years 2011 and 2012 there were 24,666 and 25,033, respectively, recipients of the back to education allowance.
