Question:

69. According to the Quarterly National Household Survey for Quarter 3, 2013, published by the Central Statistics Office (CSO), approximately 4,800 jobs per month have been created – a total of 58,000 in the 12 months to end of the third quarter of 2013. A monthly breakdown of jobs by standard occupational classification is not available. However, the following table provides statistics by Quarter, on Persons aged over 15 employed by Sector (Source: CSO Database). While these employment figures are very encouraging signs for the economy, we must continue to build on this progress and support further job creation. I am currently preparing the 2014 Action Plan for Jobs on behalf of the Government and we will continue, through that process, to build on the success of the actions we have taken over the last two years.
