Questions (115)

Lucinda Creighton

Question:

115. Deputy Lucinda Creighton asked the Minister for Social Protection her views on whether using the pension levy as the sole means in which to fulfil European Court of Justice court ruling requirements concerning insolvent pension schemes is inequitable; her views that in so far as the pension levy is a levy on private pensions and therefore the burden of meeting the State's obligations for insolvent pension schemes is being shouldered entirely by private pension schemes means that public sector schemes remain untouched; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
