Deputy Sean Sherlock asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if he will take into account the awarding of discretionary milk quota in respect of persons (details supplied) in County Cork in view of the fact that they have been compliant with all previous systems in place for buying back milk quotas; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Officials in my Department are engaged in ongoing discussions with the named persons, and are examining the background to the case in order to identify a resolution that is both satisfactory to named persons, and compliant with the regulations governing the milk quota regime.
