Deputy Michael McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Skills if he will, in respect of his Department's audit committee, provide details of its current membership; the date of appointment of each member; the fees paid to each member; if members of the committee are required to hold certain professional qualifications; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerThe members of my Department's Audit Committee are appointed by the Accounting Officer. The Committee has a membership of five including three external members, one of whom is Chairperson.
The current members have had varied backgrounds and occupations bringing a breadth of experience, skills and knowledge in areas important to the Department, to their work. There is no requirement for them to hold particular professional qualifications.
Details of the current membership, the dates of appointment of each member and the fees paid to each member, where applicable, are set out in the table.
