Mental Illness (under 16) is one of the illnesses covered under the LTI Scheme. Following a review of the operation of the Scheme with reference to ADHD, the HSE issued appropriate national guidelines in September 2013, to be implemented with immediate effect. The implementation of the guidelines will ensure that in future all children with ADHD are treated equally under the Long Term Illness Scheme.
