255. Deputy Robert Troy asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform if he will confirm the stage of an application by an association (details supplied) to acquire the recently closed Rathowen Garda station; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6835/14]
View answerThe Commissioners of Public Works considered the proposal submitted by the association to use the former Garda station at Rathowen, County Westmeath. An assessment of the property by my officials found it to be unsuitable for assignment to the community because of the existing complexity of the shared services arrangement with a neighbouring property.
