Deputy Sean Fleming asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will list any new organisations-agencies established in his Department since 9 March 2011; the role and functions and the annual operating budget for these organisations-agencies; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerSince my appointment as Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, I have created no new agencies. Shannon Airport separated from the Dublin Airport Authority on 31 December 2012. Legislation is being prepared to establish a new commercial State entity, Shannon Group Plc, comprising Shannon Airport Authority and the restructured Shannon Development. This will have the effect of reducing the number of state agencies by one. The role and functions of the new Body will be set out in the legislation when published. No Exchequer funding is currently being provided to Shannon Airport Authority, nor will any Exchequer funding be provided to the new commercial body when established. The Deputy will find a list of all agencies under the remit of my Department on the Department's website www.dttas.ie.
