223. Deputy Michael Colreavy asked the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources if he will provide a breakdown of heat energy demand between domestic, public, commercial and industrial buildings; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10493/14]
View answerThe Energy in Ireland Report for 2012, published by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland and available on its website, shows a total heat demand in 2012 in the domestic, public, commercial and industrial sectors of 4,267 kilotonnes of oil equivalent (ktoe). Of this, 2,017 ktoe was in the residential sector, 1,464 ktoe was in industry, 430 ktoe was in the commercial services sector and 356 ktoe was in the public sector.
