302. Deputy Brendan Griffin asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the position regarding the introduction of a new code of practice for the sale and supply of alcohol in the off trade; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10868/14]
View answerThe position is that the Government has decided that a statutory code of practice under section 17 of the Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2011 concerning the sale and display of alcohol products in mixed trading premises should be introduced. Preparatory work is currently under way and I hope to be in a position to launch a consultation process on the contents of the code, as required under the legislation, in the coming weeks.
