Deputy Noel Grealish asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the measures that are in place within his Department to ensure that at tendering and final procurement stages only notified biocides as set out under S.I. No., 625 of 2001, are purchased by his Department; if he will confirm that only notified biocides are currently being purchased by their respective agencies; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department does not acquire or purchase biocides as set out in S.I. 625 of 2001.

The acquisition or purchase of biocides by agencies under the aegis of my Department is a day-to-day operational matter for the bodies concerned and is not managed centrally by my Department.
